With over 200 animals here at the Refuge, we have a lot of mouths to feed! We are currently raising funds to purchase enough hay bales to last our animals through the winter. Our goal is to raise $4,000.
In addition to Tofu the Turkey, who is receiving treatment for a foot infection, vet bills from our elderly pigs are piling up. We believe in giving all of our animals the best quality of life possible, and we couldn't do this without our valued veterinarians!
We have made amazing improvements to our cabin, but we still have more to do! We use this space as a multi-purpose residence at our sanctuary. Whether you are coming to our sanctuary for a therapy session, staying as a long-term volunteer, or even just stopping by to say hi, we have a comfortable, beautiful space for you here. We hope this space can provide our guests with the opportunity to experience the serenity and joys of living amongst our rescued animals, surrounded by the Blue Ridge Mountains. One of our volunteers has created a GoFundMe for this specific project. Click below to donate!
Our Amazon wishlist is constantly updated so that our supporters can send us items we need directly to our doorstep! In the past, we've received fencing for our goats, blankets for our elderly pigs, kiddie pools for our dogs (and pigs!), and even a microchip scanner so we can keep our animals ID'd and safe. In lieu of a monetary donation, please consider sending us a quick gift the next time you shop on Amazon.
Thanks to our amazing supporters and their efforts, we have raised enough funds to get the winterizing projects here started. This is a huge accomplishment, and it was your support that made it possible. Now, our focus shifts towards making sure these projects will see completion, and that everyone has a full belly throughout the winter.
